Jasurbek Nabijonov, a recent school graduate from Yangiqo‘rg‘on District in Uzbekistan’s Namangan Region, has successfully secured a three-year Australian Student Visa.

He graduated from General Secondary School No. 10 in Yangiqo‘rg‘on District in 2026 and achieved an impressive IELTS overall score of 7.0. Jasurbek will begin his studies at CQUniversity’s Sydney Campus on 8 March 2027, starting with the Diploma of Business Studies before progressing to the Bachelor of Business.

His result is an important achievement for a young student moving directly from secondary education in regional Uzbekistan to university-level study in Australia.

From School in Yangiqo‘rg‘on to University in Australia

Moving from secondary school into an international university environment requires careful academic and personal preparation. Students must adjust to a new education system, complete assignments in English and become more independent in managing their studies.

For Jasurbek, the Diploma-to-Bachelor pathway provides a structured transition. Instead of entering the Bachelor of Business immediately, he will begin with subjects that introduce the foundations of business and management while helping him become familiar with Australian university education.

His IELTS score of 7.0 places him in a strong position to participate in lectures, presentations, group projects and written assignments. It will also help him communicate confidently within Sydney’s multicultural student community.

Beginning with the Diploma of Business Studies

Jasurbek will commence the Diploma of Business Studies at CQUniversity in Term 1, 2027. The academic term officially begins on 8 March 2027.

The one-year diploma consists of eight units and develops introductory knowledge across business and management. Students build an understanding of how organisations operate while developing academic, communication and problem-solving skills relevant to further university study.

After successfully completing the diploma, Jasurbek may receive credit for up to eight units towards CQUniversity’s Bachelor of Business. This will allow him to progress directly into the second year of the degree rather than repeating the subjects already completed during his diploma.

This connected pathway enables him to complete both stages within an overall three-year study plan: one year of diploma studies followed by the remaining two years of the bachelor’s degree.

Progressing to the Bachelor of Business

CQUniversity’s Bachelor of Business is designed to develop a combination of business knowledge, practical skills and professional adaptability.

The course includes eight core units and allows students to shape their degree through majors and minors. Areas of study may include management, marketing, accounting, financial planning, business analytics and other fields, although availability depends on the selected campus and intake.

During the program, Jasurbek will develop a broader understanding of how businesses make decisions, manage people, respond to competition and adapt to changing markets. He will also strengthen transferable skills in communication, teamwork, analysis and leadership.

The flexibility of the degree will allow him to explore different areas of business before developing knowledge aligned with his future career interests.

Why Jasurbek Chose Sydney

Sydney offers Jasurbek the opportunity to study business in Australia’s largest commercial environment. The city is home to banks, international companies, professional services firms, retailers, technology businesses and start-ups operating across many industries.

This setting is relevant to a Business student because it provides a real-world context for subjects studied at university. Jasurbek will be able to observe how organisations operate in a competitive and internationally connected market while building his academic knowledge.

Sydney is also one of the world’s most multicultural cities. Studying alongside people from different countries will help him understand how cultural backgrounds can influence communication, teamwork and business practices.

For a recent school graduate from Yangiqo‘rg‘on, living in Sydney will be a major change. It will also be an opportunity to develop independence, confidence and a broader international outlook during his three years of study.

Studying at CQUniversity Sydney

CQUniversity’s Sydney Campus is located at 400 Kent Street in the heart of the city, approximately a five-minute walk from Town Hall Station. Its central location provides convenient access to public transport, shops, cafés and nearby areas such as Darling Harbour.

The campus offers modern learning areas, a library and spaces for individual and group study. Its connections with the City of Sydney, Study NSW and international student organisations also give students access to social, volunteering, leadership, networking and employability opportunities.

Beginning both stages of his pathway within the same university will give Jasurbek continuity throughout his studies. He can become familiar with CQUniversity’s academic expectations and student services during his diploma before progressing to the bachelor’s degree.

Career Opportunities After Graduation

A Bachelor of Business can prepare graduates for careers across management, marketing, finance, administration, business development, project coordination and entrepreneurship.

Depending on the specialisation and practical experience he develops, Jasurbek may pursue an entry-level position such as Business Development Officer, Marketing Coordinator, Project Officer, Management Trainee or Business Analyst. After gaining professional experience, he could progress into positions with greater responsibility in management, strategy or commercial operations.

These skills are increasingly relevant to Uzbekistan, where private companies, banks, retailers, digital businesses and international organisations continue to expand. Employers need graduates who can analyse information, communicate effectively and understand how modern organisations operate.

Jasurbek’s Australian education can therefore provide knowledge and international experience that he may later apply within Uzbekistan’s developing business sector.

We congratulate Jasurbek Nabijonov on securing his three-year Australian Student Visa and wish him every success when he begins his Diploma of Business Studies at CQUniversity Sydney on 8 March 2027.
